Charles Lloyd - Forest Flower (Sunrise & Sunset)
“Forest Flower (Sunrise & Sunset)" is a jazz composition by saxophonist and composer Charles Lloyd, which was recorded live at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1966. The song became one of the most popular jazz recordings of the 1960s.
Charles Lloyd on the influence of nature on his music:
"The natural world has always been a source of inspiration for me. It's where I go to recharge my batteries, to find peace and tranquility. And I think that's reflected in my music." (from an interview with NPR, 2015)
"I think of my music as a kind of tone painting, where I'm trying to capture the essence of the natural world through sound. It's like a musical landscape, where each note and each chord is like a brush stroke on a canvas." (from an interview with DownBeat, 2014)
